The mission of The Friday School is to provide a Jewish education with an emphasis on culture and ethics to children from pre-school age up to Bar/Bat Mitzvah.

The school meets once a week on Fridays from 3:45 to 6:00 p.m. at the Jewish Community Center, 401 Elmgrove Ave. Providence, R.I.

We also teach the children Jewish songs and prayers. Friday school begins in September and ends in May.

our goal

Our goal is to establish lifelong interest in Jewish learning in both its formal and informal aspects. The Friday School values all members of the community in their varying perspectives and in their exploration of Judaism - in this way our children can freely and proudly identify as participating members of the Jewish community. We welcome new members and admit students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all of the school's programs and activities.

staff

The Friday School employees a professional director who works together with the parents to run our school. Our teachers include enthusiastic students from Brown, RISD, and Johnson and Wales as well as some parents of our students.
