The Friday School offers a one-day per week alternative with classes in Hebrew, Jewish history, culture and ethics. Our program features family Shabbat and holiday celebrations. Families from all backgrounds and beliefs are welcome.
The mission of The Friday School is to provide a Jewish education with an emphasis on culture and ethics to children from pre-school age up to Bar/Bat Mitzvah.
The school meets once a week on Fridays from 3:45 to 6:00 p.m. at the Jewish Community Center, 401 Elmgrove Ave. Providence, R.I. We also teach the children Jewish songs and prayers. Friday school begins in September and ends in May.
The Friday School employees a professional director who works together with the parents to run our school. Our teachers include enthusiastic students from Brown, RISD, and Johnson and Wales as well as some parents of our students. |
